Fake Tan !

Hello Girls !
So firstly another apology for the lack of posts, I started my A levels this week at college and was spending time on being a good student and getting to know everyone in my new classes and organising everything, but now thats mostly sorted I'm back here to do posts...:)

So I'm going to do this post on fake tan because it's the beginning of Autumn/Winter and keeping that gorgeous sunkissed look is very important to me! I have three products which I use which I will write further about below... but they are the Dove Summer Glow, Olay Complete Care Everyday Sunshine and Loreal Paris Sublime Bronze.

Dove Summer Glow
I use this in medium to dark and this is for when I want a really deep golden brown, this has such a gorgeous colour and looks really natural, and providing you allow it to soak in and dry properly pretty streak free even coverage! I just replace my everyday moisturiser with this for about a week and i'll look like i've been on some tropical holiday abroad, I love it ! The only thing I would say is the smell is well it's very fake tan, and the smell does linger for a while too which is the only thing that brings this down! As well as the fact if you get this on cream carpet it leaves a nice little stain regardless of attempts to clean it up, that's a warning to you girls !

Olay Complete Care Everyday Sunshine
This is for when my face starts to look pasty and dull, an amazing daily moisturiser which gives a lovely colour and has a hint of shimmer in it to make you really glow! It is quite greasy so I wouldn't reccomend it for oily skin, but it's perfect if you've got dry skin. It doesn't smell too bad and it's got SPF 15 in it which I find alot of lower end moisturisers often don't !
Loreal Paris Sublime Bronze Express Pro
This is a self-tanning dry mist which is absolutely love! I have repurchased this countless times, at the moment I'm using it in light for a natural glow but I also find the medium really good for a deeper colour, but this is just amazing for all year round keeping you looking glowing. It's so easy to apply, it's got a professional diffuser spray so it goes on in minutes and takes seconds to try, it's completely streak free and actually smells nice (ish) This looks absolutely perfect and lasts a really long time! The only thing is it will dry your skin out a bit but at the price you pay who can complain? I think it's about £11 a can.

Does anyone else use any of these, or have any fake tan reccomendations?

My Holy Grail Hair Product

Aussie Hair Cair 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor! Possibly my favourite hair product ever? This stuff is completely affordable and makes your hair feel absolutely amazing, I use it once a week and it keeps my hair in excellent condition, considering the torture I put my hair through day to day (blow-drying, straightening, backcombing ect...) It's got a really nice thick, creamy consitency, and don't even get me started on the smell, this stuff has the most amazing sweet, yummy, delicious smell ever! If I could find a perfume that smelt like this it would be my new signature scent. For anyone who hasn't tried this I am telling you to go out and buy it, I buy the full size bottle but if you just want to try it you can get it in mini single use sachets and bottles, sort of like travel size ones. One thing I am curious about is some of the other 3 Minute Miracles such as luscious long and take the heat, so I might give a different one a try to review.

What are everyone one elses HG hair product?

Erase Paste!

So I popped into my local benefit counter the other day to pick up a product i've been wanting to try for a while, their erase paste concealer. I heard good things about it for covering dark circles, and the lady at the counter said it was voted best undereye concealer by |Goks Fashion Fix ! And if Gok Wan Loves it is must be good!

I also got a free sample of their foundation 'Some Kind-a Gorgeous' which is one thing I love about my local benefit counter, they give you free samples everytime you buy something!
Benefit say its a brightening camouflage for eyes and face, and I totally agree, this stuff is amazing! A little goes a long way because it's so creamy and pigmented, it definitely does brighten the area and stays on all day, I also love the fact it doesn't crease or dry out my eye area! It came with a little white spatula which I don't think I'd ever really use and the instruction booklet would be great for a beginner, even at £18.50 for this iddy biddy jar I think it's completely worth it, best product i've brought in a while !

Rapunzel Rapunzel

Let down your hair....

Hellloo Lovelies :)
So this is going to be my review of Rapunzel Rapunzel 100% Human Hair Remi Extensions, so I guess i'll start with a before picture...

... and an after picture, if just to let you know the lighting in the next picture is terrible, I took the before photo this morning before work and the after picture just now when I was home from work so there isn't any natural light.

I'm really pleased with the quality of these extensions and the amazing next day delivery when you order them online for only 3.95! You get a really generous amount of hair, One 4 Clip Weft, One 3 Clip Weft, Two 2 Clip wefts and Two 1 Clip wefts so you can do your whole head as apposed to just the underneath or half the head which I've seen some people do, and they're 18 inches long.
The clips are really good quality and the extensions are a really reasonable price. The one downside to getting them online is it makes it hard to choose the right colour but I went for medium brown and it matches perfectly.
In terms of them actually in my hair they don't add that much lenght maybe an inch but they make it so think and voluptuous and just looks gorgeous, it just makes a really big difference, although you can't really tell in the photograph. I'm sooo pleased with these extensions and would definitely reccomend the brand for good quality extensions at affordable prices. However I could not wear these everyday they would irritate me and add more time onto they already ridiculous amount of time I take to get ready!

Has anyone else tried RapunzelRapunzel, or maybe another brand of extensions?

FOTD

Hi Lovelies! This is sort of a FOTD/ Share the Love Post, I did my face of the day using a video tutorial by Jennifer Rosellen. I pretty much used all the products she shows this blog except for foundation, the cream blush, and Mascara. I used my own foundation routine and then just used her blush and smoky eye tutorial. I used Nars Orgasm Blush and Benefit High Beam on my cheeks then as a different Mascara I used Lancome Hypnose Drama, my favourite Mascara EVER! If you want a review let me know!! :)
Check out her Blog here http://www.jenniferrosellen.co.uk/
And her Youtube Channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/JenniferRosellen

And also I've booked myself in at my local Toni and Guy for a MUCH needed haircut, I want to have it a bit more styled but keep it long so I might do a post on possible cuts? I also just ordered some Rapunzel Rapunzel Remi Straight Extensions, so when they come excpect a review also !

Hope you're all making the most of your last few days in August, goodbye summer :(

5 Skincare Products I Use Everyday

So most of the time I use a few other products as well but these are the ones I use pretty much without fail everyday, although to be frank this does change fairly often with the discovery of new and better products! I've never found anything accepy palmers cocoa butter I would never consider changing, I'm always open to new products and trying things out!

So I'm going to go clockwise starting from the top !
First is facewipes, no brand in particular I change brand depending on the first ones I can happen to get my hands on when I run out, this month I asked my dad to buy me some and he brought me back sainsburys ones for, they work perfectly fine, don't irritate my skin, take of my makeup and if I was really pushed for time or really packing late I would be able to get away with using these alone.

Next is Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula, I use this everyday as my all over body moisturiser, it has such a yummy smell, it's really rich and creamy, it goes on nicely and absorbs well but it's also improved my scars and helped get rid of the spots on the back of my arms, you know the ones I mean? The weird little red pimply things.

Simple Moisturiser, a really rich simple moisturiser that keeps my skin moisturised all day, it doesn't do anything special but it works and it's affordable, there's no smell to it either which I actually like sometimes it doesn't feel quite right rubbing strongly scented product on my face!

Vaseline with Aloe Vera, need I explain? I have tonnes of these in every bag I own, in coat pockets and stashed away in various other places, ultimate lip product in my opinion, I apply before gloss and lipstick and I use to restore chapped lips, I rub it on my cuticles as well to make them nice and soft!

Garnier Clean Detox Face Wash, I use this morning and night and it makes my skin really glowy and doesn't strip it of moisture, it smells really nice and fresh too ! It's for normal skin and I wouldn't reccomend it if you suffer from breakouts because it won't really do anything for you but for me it's just perfect!

I've also just noticed a bit of a green theme among my products, this was totally by acciddent, maybe i'm just atracted to green packaging?

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend, much love...

MUA Eye Shadow Review

So I was just browsing in Superdrug, when I came across a new brand they have stocked called MUA ( Make-Up Academy), everything was £1 so I was thinking that they were going to be pretty poor, but I swatched some shadows on my hand anyway and I was pleasantly suprised ! Most of the shadows were really good quality and had really nice colour and pigment to them so I picked up a couple! I got the Shade 20 Matt and Shade 12 Pearl.

On the left is the Shade 12 Pearl, it's a really gorgeous reddy brown which when you swatch it has green undertone, it's hard to explain you can see it better in the swatch but it's really gorgeous ! And on the right is a nearly black matt shade (Shade 20, Matt) which comes out really dark and pigmented unlike other black or grey drugstore shadows i've tried, where the colour barely comes out at all. When you put them on they are a little bit messy and hard to work with but once you've got it right they look really pretty on! The packagin is also pretty plain and not great but for £1 and with the quality of the shadow it's self who really cares!

On the right is the Shade 20 Matt and the left is the Shade12 Pearl. You can see in the right one the green sheen coming thorugh although the flash washed the colours out a little bit! But I would definitely reccomend you check this brand out, I didnt test any of the other products, if any one has i'd love to hear what you think of them!

Also I was thinking of maybe doing a video post? What do you think?

Much Love
Rachael xoxo

Olay Total Effects Self Heating Exfoliator - Review

So i'll be honest I didn't actually go out and purchase this product, this is the face wash my mum uses but as I left my product by the sink when I was in the shower I decided it would be easier to just use this one, it says it exfoliating so it's good enough for me!
And I am so glad I came across this, it's a little unconventional for me to use this since it's an anti aging product but seriously this make's your skin look and feel so much better, it helped reduce my pore size and it made it uber soft and smooth, it's slef heating so when you apply it onto your face it heats up and it gets to a really good temprature not just a little bit warm but the sort of heat you'd usually wash with, and unlike some exfoliating products which have a few large bits to scrub this has loads of 'micro' one so it's gentler but it goes further as well. It's not too expensive either, I looked it up and you can get it in superdrug for around £7! Becuase it's for mature skin it probably wouldn't be suited for oily skin but if you've got normal to dry skin I think it would be great.

Can I also say how much i'm style crushingon Katy Perry at the moment she's so gorgeous ! And I loved her outfit changes at Teen Choice awards so quirky and original.
These are my favourites...

Much Love

todays buys

So I managed to sneak in a quick trip into boots today before work to buy some lip balm, well of course I ended up endlessly browsing through all the make-up but suprislingly I managed to be very conservative with my buys!
First I got lipbalm, would of been a bit ditzy if I forgot the one thing I went in for !
This is one of those does exactly what it says on the tin (pot) products, makes my lips feel super soft and has a lovely silky texture similar to body shops lip butters but without the smells! And you get loads in the pot!

Then I got some No. 7 eyeshadows in 45 Emerald and 60 comet. There meant to be stay perfect eyeshadows, which I can't really comment on because i'll probably never wear them! They have hardly any pigment in the and they are impossible to blend and get an even look with, they come out all patchy, I'm so dissapointed with these but at least it's a lesson learnt, I won't be buying these again !

Then last of all but my most favourite purchase  I brought some lovely Coralista by Benefit Blush, this is actually a repurchase because my other one is coming to an end but this is my favourite go-to blush! It just makes you look really awake and radiant and it suits tanned and paler complexions and it smells yummy too ! Or maybe thats just me? It's got just the right amount of shimmer as well !

this day keeps getting better and better

Not only did my beautiful new bed come :) I GOT TICKETS TO BRITAINS NEXT TOP MODEL LIVE!!
courtesy of ma mere , we're staying in a hotel for a couple of days as well which means lots of london shopping ! I'm so exciteddd !

It's so cute, I love it! I've been waiting for this bed since we decorated my room a year ago!
Anyway onto product review of my new MAC fluidline in blacktrack, previously I was using revlon colorstay liquid liner in blackest black. But I've seen this product in a lot of make-up tutorials so I thought I'd see if it was actually any good. I also brought a MAC 266 brush for application.
At first I was a little unsure because it's so thick in the pot whereas actual liquid liner is very much liquid and goes on smoothly, but I was really suprised to find that it did go on really smoothly, I think with a bit more practice I'll be able to get the application perfect. The angled brush is also really helpful in getting the application right and makes it alot easier to acheived winged liner than with normal liquid liner.
It has a strong black colour which is what I look for in a good liner but a more softer, matte finish than normal liquid liners which is good but for some looks I would probably go back to my revlon colorstay if I wanted a stronger more striking line, but this product can create some beautiful looks that are different to that of liquid liner so I definitely think it was a worthwhile buy !

mulberry-esque bag!

I was soo excited when I found this bag in new look! Especially since I get 50 % staff discount but even at full price £25 it's still worth it !
I got it because I thought it looked a little bit mulberry-esque, and it comes in black, blue or brown, but being a traditionalist I went for brown, it's just a really gorgeous satchel bag and I have seen similar in other highstreet shops but this is the cheapest one I found! It's really rooomy inside and altough it's not real leather it's really not a problem beacause it's a good quality substitute and lets me honest if it was leather it would of seriously bumped up the price !

Two more things which made my day... I found my camera lead ! Yay :) And my new bed which i've been nagging my mum to order for about a year comes today, it's a gorgeous day bed with a white frame, i'll post a picture later .

Much love Rachael xoxo

Looking for the perfect dark circle solution...

So I think my biggest (fixable) flaw face wise would probably be my dark circles, I'm pretty lucky with the fact that I've never suffered badly from serious spots or oily skin apart from the odd pimple, I find my skins a little dull sometimes but my main problem is dark circles around my eyes ! Even if i've had a good nights sleep I look like a zombie ! It makes my whole eyes look dead, so I'm going to try and find some products and make-up to give me bright eyes and cover or clear my dark circles !
Products I was considering were, Benefit Erase Paste; Garnier Eye Roll- On, and Loreal Touch Magique.

If any one can reccomend anything I would love your help!
Rachael xoxo

Loreal Elvive Full Restore 5

This is the one with Cheryl Cole on the advert, I brought this because it claimed to solve the 5 main problem I'd been having with my hair. It's supposed to make it feel stronger, fuller, reviltalised, silkier and with a healither looking shine. It's not particularly expensive either which is always a bonus.
I've been using the shampoo and conditioner for about a week, not the masque or leave in conditioner because I use different products for that, and I have to say it really works well, I've noticed less loss of my hair whereas before it was malting quite a bit which I was starting to get worried about to be honest, but now i'm barely malting at all! My hair is definitely feeling stronger and it looks shiny and feels soft, I wouldn't say its any fuller but my hair is naturally thing anyway. So if you have long hair which, like me, has been abused a little but in the past and needs some care I would strongly reccomend this, it is a definite winner among low end products.

Hopefully I'll be doing some more posts today as this is a new blog I need to fill it with reading material :)
not to mention i have to morning off work.
love Rachael xoxo

Wednesday 18 August 2010

So, I guess i'll do my first post as a little 'about me', I'm 17 and I live in the south of England, I have to admit I take for granted where I live a little bit, it has some of the best beaches in the country, and I know alot of people would love to live down here, but for me living in a big city would just be so much better ! I absolutely adore London, nothing can compare.

I work full- time in New Look at the moment but I'm restarting college in september to do A levels. I made this blog because I am a make-up and shopping addict, I love fashion and beauty and I'm always trawling over beauty and style blogs so I thought i'd have a go at my own.

The other thing I love it driving, that sounds weird but I find it so liberating and I always go for drives in my beat up old astra.
Other than that my lifes pretty normal, but hopefully you'll enjoy my blog as much as I enjoy other peoples !
